With the clouds not in our favor for Cobia fishing, the crew decided to head offshore to the sea bass grounds for some offshore wreck fishing out of Cape Charles to fill the cooler.
The seas calling for 2’ at 9 seconds, we headed for the wrecks in smooth seas. When we arrived we got the spot lock set on the trolling motor and lines in the water, it was game on. The seas looked like glass and you could see every bit of 20’ down, Which if you’ve never offshore fished, there aren’t many days out of the year when the water is stupid calm.
Triple hook ups all day long and quite a few big ole knot heads. In no time we had our 15 per person limit, just in time because the wind was on its way.
